Silver Tip Tea (Yinzhen Tea)
Handpicked Unblended AAA Grade

An organically certified March 2009 hand-harvested Silver Tip tea (Baihao Yinzhen) from China's Fujian province.

White tea is often regarded in Asia as a "cooling" tea, as it contains the least "fire" of all Chinese teas.

It uses a special process called withering where relatively low heat and no rolling is applied. During the making process, fresh leaves are left to wither in dormant condition for 1 to 3 days.

Enzymatic reactions progress under the right temperature, humidity and air-flow. The key is to get the fresh leaves to mature with minimal oxidation.

Many people claim white tea is more potent than green tea. This is because it is less "cooked", which helps retain more raw nutrients.

Ever wonder why a this tea tastes and feels so good? It is the withering, which results in teas containing:

  • Slightly higher sugar content, that gives a pleasant sweet taste.

  • High theanine content, that gives a fresh unami taste, not to mention the calming and concentrating effects.

AAA Grade Unblended

This high grade Silver Needle tea comes from China's Fuding county. It has been handharvested and withered using century-old traditional method.

It is withered by sun shine, and in case of cloudy weather, withered indoors.

The production for white tea is much affected by weather conditions. It is affected also by wind direction. The best wind direction is south wind, since it brings more moisture.

Unlike the teas you would buy elsewhere, it is unblended and 100% authentic. Just 2 to 3 grams can be infused multiple times for a fresh, fruity and rich taste.

This wonderful AAA grade Silver Needle tea comes from an organic farm in Fuding and is handcrafted using the traditional withering method.
