Issue #98: Green Tea Season 2019 Has Arrived - and it's Good!

>> Green Tea Season 2019
>> New Green Tea Study on Weight Loss Effect
>> I Need Your Feedback!

The 2019 green tea season is upon us and yes - it is goooood. Temperature has remained low during early spring, allowing the tea buds to grow slowly and picked off in an orderly fashion.

It is certainly not in the same league as the 2016 ("Best in Five Years!") or 2015 ("One of the Best"), but certainly better than 2017 ("Heavy Rainfall") and 2018 ("Warming up too quickly").

- Silver Needle White Tea

Do you know that the most delicious white tea are those harvested in the first day of spring? Fancy having that as part of your mid morning routine?

This Jipin grade represents the best of Silver Needle tea. The cream of the crop - it is the first day harvest from the hill of Diantou Zhen, the Authentic Source and birthplace of the Da Bai white tea.

The best white tea we ever had, the liquor is shining yellow, thick and viscous, a delight to behold. The body is strong and yellow, reminiscent of a fine black tea, made possible by the sun drying method. But most remarkable is the aftertaste, which is sweet and fragrant, sign of a truly top grade.

- Green Tea

With the exception of Maofeng A grade, all green teas have now been restocked.

The stars of this 2019 season are our flagship product Tribute Longjing tea (serves to the Chinese President) and the highly aromatic Huangshan Maofeng. Both teas have excellent fragrance and after-feeling.

- Yunnan Gold

Here in England, everybody like a cup of tea with milk added. The usual go-to is PG Tips or Tetley. They are made from chopped mature leaves, are highly caffeinated and for some reasons, I get a mild headache drinking them.

We know that tea plants are accumulators and mature leaves, especially, are more likely to have contaminants.

Tea buds, on the other hand, are only a few days old when picked and purer.

How about drinking high quality tea buds with much higher concentration of antioxidants and soothing effect for a change?

Do you know that you could have the best Black Tea in the world for $13?

We have recently restocked Yunnan Gold. Check it out.

- Tieguanyin Oolong Tea and Jasmine Needle

Spring is for taste and autumn is for fragrance.

If you love drinking highly aromatic tea, both autumnal harvests have been in stock since October.

Our Tieguanyin King grade, especially, is a rare treat and unique offering. It's so refined that the aroma felt more like a perfume. It is highly durable - brewed using kungfu style it can last up to 9 infusions.

Green Tea, Gut Health and Weight Loss

Do you know numerous scientific studies have found green tea to be an effective beverage for weight control?

Scientists have discovered at least eight different ways green can can help you lose weight:

- Boost metabolism
- Burn fat
- Prevent fat storage
- Reduce food craving
- Block dietary fat absorption
- Regulate glucose uptake
- Improve gut health
- Acting together with caffeine

This latest 2019 study from Ohio State University found that green tea appeared to contribute to a healthier microbial community in the guts of the mice fed a high-fat diet.

"This study provides evidence that green tea encourages the growth of good gut bacteria, and that leads to a series of benefits that significantly lower the risk of obesity," said Richard Bruno, the study's lead author and a professor of human nutrition at The Ohio State University.

Now, here's the two cents from me.

As the tea constituent responsible for its health benefits are the antioxidants and caffeine, all teas - regardless of whether it is white tea, green tea or oolong tea - would have some weight loss benefits.

Green tea doesn't pair well with food - it is best drunk between meals.

Tea blocks fat absorption and the best tea for accompanying oily food is oolong tea and black tea.

I Need Your Feedback!
We have nearly 800 customer reviews in the tea shop. You'll find them in the product pages. We are one happy tea community - but there is a problem.

That problem is me. Due to my lack of marketing, the business is running down and it could conceivably shut in a few years' time. I'll do my best to keep it going, offering more and better teas at reasonable prices, but I need your help!

If you are (or not) happy with my teas, why not take a minute to post your feedback to Google?

It currently has a few feedback and only you can help me change that.

By providing me with your feedback, you can help revitalize this tea shop and help us continue to good work.

Any thoughts on this matter? Reply to this email or drop me a line in our Facebook page!
