Greeting to all my tea friends worldwide. Apology for my absence since November. I hope you are all self-isolating and keeping safe. To those of you who cannot, I salute your bravery and thank you for your sacrifice.

Why should we self-isolate and what lies beyond the next few months? To quote Rob Vinall of RV Capital:

The maths behind the reason to self-isolate are very simple. The fatality rate for Covid-19 is thought to be around 1% for the population at large (though far higher for at-risk groups such as older folk), provided hospital care is available. Without hospital care, the fatality rate spikes up to 5% (again, higher for at risk groups). That is a 5x chance of dying.

If we can get through the next few months, the odds of survival improve dramatically - hospital systems will regain capacity, face masks (yes, they work) will become widely available and socially acceptable, existing drugs with some degree of efficacy will be identified and disseminated, and perhaps a vaccine will be developed. The important thing is not to get sick. The way not to get sick over the next months is to self-isolate. It's that simple.

Tea and Coronavirus

The best way to fight the virus is to wash hands frequently using soapy water . The virus is held together by lipid that disintegrates readily in soap.

Drinking warm water frequently to wash down any virus that might have got struck in the throat will also help. The stomach acid will finish them off.

That is where a hot cup of tea comes in handy. Tea has been known to raise immunity and fight flu and cold. It contains antigens that prepare us for bacterial invasion. A study on black tea drinkers found that five small cups of black tea a day increases immunity.

Tea and Immune System

Impressively, a 2005 study performed by National Health Research Institute of Taipei found that black tea compound theaflavin may be effective in blocking the activities of coronavirus SARS.

We sell a number of high quality black tea. One my favourite is this Yunnan Gold black tea. It consists of pristine tea buds, has great fragrance and rich taste and absolutely delicious to drink.

I Need Your Feedback!
We have nearly 800 customer reviews in the tea shop. You'll find them in the product pages. We are one happy tea community - but there is a problem.

That problem is me. Due to my lack of marketing, the business is running down and it could conceivably shut in a few years' time. I'll do my best to keep it going, offering more and better teas at reasonable prices, but I need your help!

If you are (or not) happy with my teas, why not take a minute to post your feedback to

It currently has a few feedback and only you can help me change that.

By providing me with your feedback, you can help revitalize this tea shop and help us continue to good work.

Any thoughts on this matter? Reply to this email or drop me a line in our Facebook page!
