How Much To Buy
Why High Grades Can Be Economical

High grade tea has more soluble solids and greater concentration of nutrients.

There are three packet sizes: Sampler (30 grams), Regular (50 grams) and Bulk (250 grams).

You specify the number of packets after clicking the Add to Cart button.

Not quite sure how many grams to ounces? Here is how they measure up:

Size Grams Ounce
Sampler 30 1.1
Regular 50 1.8
Bulk 250 8.9

Which packet size to go for?

If you are experimenting, I recommend the 10 grams combinations. It is an efficient way to taste different grades in one combo package.

If you are looking to buy a small amount, I recommend the 30 and 50 grams.

If you are looking for an everyday beverage, I recommend the 250 grams. With the bulk discount, they are as good as wholesale.

It might be worthwhile to buy more than $60 to get free delivery.

How Much Does One Packet Last?

Tribute Dragon Well Tea (Longjing)

It really depends on how much you drink and how strong you like it.

For green tea, standard recommendation is to brew 3 grams in an 8-ounce cup of 225 millimetres.

The Tribute Dragon Well tea has more soluble solids and nutrients. It is more flavourful than standard loose leaf, so you need less.

I like it light and flowery - just 1 gram each time. Some of my customers like it strong and nutty: 3 grams each time.

Let say you drink 3 cups a day.

If you brew 2 grams each time, which is then infused into 3 cups, a Regular packet will last you 25 days.

Size Tribute Dragon Well
Sampler 45 cups. 15 days
Regular 75 cups. 25 days
Bulk 375 cups. 4 months

High grade leaves are fatter and more tender. They have more soluble solids and higher concentration of nutrients, which yield a more flavourful cup.

Iron Goddess King Oolong Tea (Tieguanyin Wang)

For oolong tea, standard recommendation is to brew 3 grams in a 6-ounce cup of 150 millimetres.

The number of infusions increase with grade and price. You may be paying more for a higher grade, but in term of cost per cup, it stays roughly the same. A Jipin Grade can be infused 9 times. Lower grades can be infused 7 and 5 times.

C Grade is not a Tieguanyin Wang and so costs less. It can be infused 3 times.

Jipin 9

AA 5
C 3
