Angelina, it is absolutely fine to drink green tea the way you do! In fact, I drink it first thing in the morning too - 3 to 6 cups (about 3 grams or 300 milligrams of catechins).
The only problem you have to be aware of drinking green tea empty stomach is that it may cause discomfort for some people. If you experience nausea or heartburn, then it is better to drink it between meals.
Taking green tea with honey and lemon juice is a great idea. In particular, the study belows that adding lemons actualy boost the antioxidant properties of green tea.

Of course, if you are drinking a very high grade green tea, then it will make sense to drink it on its own as adding honey and lemons only will distract you from experiencing its rich, savoury taste.
