Solving Problems Every Tea Drinker Faces

15 September 2013 Issue #61:

>> Why Silver Needle Is My No 1 Recommended Tea
>> Huangshan Maofeng A Grade Restocked

Two commonly asked questions I get from site visitors are as follows:

"Julian, could you recommend a tea that contains plenty of antioxidants and is good for weight loss?"

"Julian, I have heard about the million of benefits of green tea, but I am slightly caffeine sensitive. Could you recommend a tea that contains less caffeine?"

In both cases, my answer is Silver Needle white tea. Why? Because she has plenty of qualities, and yet offers incredible value for money.

Don't get me wrong, my highest quality offerings are Tribute Longjing green tea (AAA grades and above) and Anji Baicha green tea. But I wouldn't consider them cheap and you should venture into them after you have some appreciations of their subtle fragrances and the zen-like after-feelings.

(Well - they are for people who love the fine things in life!)

Incredible as it may seem, our Silver Needle white tea AAA grade - at only $15 per 50 grams - is a top grade and offers great value. She also has wide appeal.

The tea buds are fat and robust, covered by downy white hairs (a sign of quality), making her suitable for brewing using hot, boiling water. Yes, there are no needs for thermometer and timer. Simply pour freshly boiled water into your glass and wait for the tea buds to sink. Observe the water turning into a viscous Burgundy-like golden yellow.

Breathe in the freshness of the spring hays. Sip the liquor slowly while it is hot, so that you can feel the rich taste and aroma. Save money as she lasts three infusions, peaking at the second.

The 2013 crop is especially wonderful and better than last year's as the entire crop has been sun dried. My partner HQ can't have enough and many of his customers are saying the same.

Also, I received 40 feedback in the last 4 months; the Silver Needle was the most popular. Valerie from Hawaii praised her highly:

"I decided to go for the higher content of antioxidant and was interested in seeing if one could have an alertness in a tea at the same time a calmness."

"I am sold on it! This is the best, freshest tea I have ever had and yes I feel more alert but not jittery and not over active with caffeine."

"The buds are something I have never seen or experienced. I absolutely love it and will keep buying it."

"However, I see it is only harvested over 6 weeks a year. I have not opened or tried the other three teas that I purchased because I want to keep them as fresh as possible until I am ready to open and try them."

" I really, really enjoy this tea and understand now, why there are tea ceremonies. Thank-you for making this tea possible to us outside of China."
